Early Orthodontic Treatment

Dentists and Orthodontists can enhance a smile at any age, but aside from this, it is important to note that there is an optimal time period in which to begin early orthodontic treatment.  It is recommended by the American Association of Orthodontics that the initial orthodontic evaluation should occur when the first sign of orthodontic issues are notice.  Otherwise, an orthodontic evaluation should take place no later than age 7.  While early orthodontic treatment may not be necessary at this particular age, a thorough examination will help establish the best time/age to begin treatment.

Less Braces for Sweet Faces

Does your child experience any of the following?

  • Breathing through the mouth
  • Sucking his/her thumb (or any other finger(s)
  • Tongue thrusting
  • Overactive lips
  • Reverse swallow
  • Large overbite
  • Crowded teeth
  • Crooked teeth
  • Teeth that protrude

If the answer is “YES” to any of these symptoms, contact us for a Free Early Orthodontic Treatment Consultation.  It is possible, that your child is a good candidate for early treatment.

At Advanced Family Dental & Orthodontics, PC and Affiliates we may be able to help improve their jaw or facial development while they are still growing.  Beside, treating these issues earlier and often times it eliminates the need for braces altogether.  Correcting these habits now will allow children to develop good dental alignment and arches.  Also, it will assist in the growth of their jaw which will improve the overall look of the face.
