Dr. Nadia Kawar loves her work in periodontics because of the association between periodontial disease and systemic health. She is interested in controlling periodontial disease through surgical and non surgical therapy with the goal of improving patient’s oral health, aesthetics and function while improving the overall health too.
Dr. Kawar graduated from the University of Jordan in 1995, with a Bachelor degree in Dental Surgery. She continued her education at Saint Louis University to receive a Master degree in Oral Science and complete her graduate work in the Periodontics Residency Program in 2004. She is the recipient of Dean Brennan Graduate Research Award for her research in the relationship between periodontial disease and preterm labor and low birth weight.
Many patients often compliment Dr. Kawar on her ability to care for her patients and respect their autonomy by sharing with them any management decision that are important to their own health. At the end of the day, Dr. Kawar finds her work to be most rewarding when she can promote health, well being and professionalism through treating patients and educating dental students.
Dr. Nadia Kawar resides in the west suburbs with her family. In her spare time you can find her enjoying a game of tennis and listening to a variety of music.
