3D ConeBeam Imaging

3D ConeBeam Imaging is an amazing new technology that creates nearly unlimited views of the face, neck and teeth, for more comprehensive treatment planning. This new technology is extremely useful for dental implants, TMJ, orthodontics and more.

It’s fast, simple and completely painless – dental patients just sit in a chair for a single 10-second scan. And, from that scan, the doctors can instantly see computer-generated views of the bones of the face, the teeth, and other details from any angle, in 3D and in color!

The 3D ConeBeam Imaging scans are different from ordinary dental x-rays. Typical dental x-rays just focus on your teeth, and for each x-ray picture, you need one exposure. It would take many exposures to even begin to compare to a single 3D ConeBeam scan. This new technology provides more complete visual information to study your case from every angle.

Whether you’re just beginning dental treatment or evaluating the results, 3D ConeBeam images give your doctors more of the high quality, detailed visual information they want for diagnosis and planning the next steps for you. Thorough information is a vital key to improved patient care. And for you, it could mean more confidence and satisfaction in your treatment.

Computer Digital Radiography (CDR)

Digital radiography is a type of x-ray imaging where digital sensors are used instead of customary film. Instead of film, a digital image capture instrument is used to record the image. It then is available as a digital file that can be interpreted and saved as part of the patient’s medical record. There are many advantages to using digital radiography versus traditional. One of the biggest advantages is that less radiation is used to produce an image than conventional x-rays. They are also much faster, appearing in the monitor after only a minute or so.

White fillings

Teeth can often be whitened by several new techniques of “bleaching” available today. The most common method used is the “in-office” method where a strong bleaching agent is placed over the isolated teeth and a special light is used to assist the bleaching material in lightening your teeth. This method is generally more controlled and probably better for people who have tetracycline stains or streaks on their teeth. The “home” techniques involve making trays which fit into the mouth and these are then filled with bleaching materials. When worn for a few hours day, noticeable results are seen generally within a few days to a couple weeks.

Results vary from individual to individual and we will be happy to help you decide which method works best for you. Some of the factors involved include the intensity of the stains, whether or not you have fillings or crowns on your front teeth as well as what may have caused the stains.

Intraoral Camera

An intraoral camera is a tiny video camera that resembles an oversized pen. Your dentist will insert the camera into your mouth and move it around, so that images can be taken from different angles. The intraoral camera is used with a computer screen, so that your dentist can easily show you any problems that may need treated. Seeing is believing!

Computer Controlled Injections – The WAND™

Computer Controlled InjectionsTHE WAND ™ is a computer-controlled dental injection. Some patients cringe at the thought of a needle! Most injections are not painful because of the needle, but rather the surge of anesthetic into your tissue. With THE WAND ™, the flow rate of the local anesthetic is controlled by a computer. This means that the injection is guaranteed to be slow and steady and therefore comfortable.

DIAGNOdentIn order to maintain beautiful and healthy teeth, early detection is key. The DIAGNOdent laser system is a modern tool which assists in the early diagnosis of cavities. Your dentist can give you a significantly more precise assessment with the use of this high-tech laser system. This tool will allow us to find hidden cavities that typically would go unobserved.

When anesthesia is required, why use a needle? The only FDA approved, needle-free anesthetic is Oraqix. Pain management has changed! It is sets as a gel, so it stays in place for efficient absorption on the treatment area. It works quickly! Its effects are felt in only 30 seconds. Patients are back to normal sensitivity in about 20 minutes, so they can go about their lives quickly.

A cavitron is a modern dental tool that cleans your teeth using high-frequency sound waves.  This ultrasonic cleaner has proven to be tremendously successful in eliminating tartar.  The cavitron ultrasonic cleaner has a blunt tip, which uses oscillating sound waves to gently pulsate the tartar away, instead of traditional bulky, metal hand scalers.  This is a safe and efficient alternative to conventional cleaning techniques.
