Getting Used to Your New Dentures

If you are a first-time denture wearer, then you will most likely find the first time of wearing dentures a challenge.  Don’t worry, you will adjust soon enough.  Remember that dentures are a substitute for natural teeth and it is going to take some getting used to.

Common Symptoms

Many denture wearers experienced a change in their speech or more salivation that usual.  These issues should disappear over time.  However, if it is a concern to you – do not hesitate to let our staff know.

You need to expect that you will have sore spots.  Some are big, some are small. Trying denture adhesive may be all you need for the little ones.  But your dentist can take care of all the big ones, just give us a call.

Learn How To Eat Again

It will take some time to learn how to eat normal foods again.  Try to start out with softer foods and then slowly introducing foods that have more chewing involved.
